How ScrambleSpot works

Choose the path that fits what you’re here to do. Most actions start with either finding an available spot or posting the spots your team needs to fill.

Looking to play?

For golfers

Find a team that fits your schedule and location, then ask the captain to join.

  1. 1

    Find a Spot

Search by the dates you can play, your ZIP code and driving distance—even across state lines.

  2. 2

    Check the tournament

Review the course, entry fee, team vibe and required tournament-detail link before requesting a spot.

  3. 3

    Request to join

Send the captain a short message. Your email and contact details stay private while the request is pending.

  4. 4

    Connect when accepted

If the captain accepts, both of you receive the contact information needed to finalize plans.

Building a team?

For team captains

Publish accurate event details, review requests and choose the right golfers.

  1. 1

    Post Open Spots

Add the tournament, course, date, entry fee, team size, available positions and the kind of team you’re building.

  2. 2

    Review golfers

See each golfer’s message and reliability history, then accept or decline the request.

  3. 3

    Confirm the team

When the roster is full, confirm the final team. ScrambleSpot shares contact details only with accepted golfers.

  4. 4

    Close the loop

After the event, record attendance and leave feedback so future teams have useful reliability information.

Quick answers

Common questions

Is ScrambleSpot free?

Yes. ScrambleSpot currently connects golfers and team captains without charging a service fee. Tournament registration and entry fees are handled outside ScrambleSpot.

Do I register or pay for the tournament here?

No. Every opening includes a public tournament-detail link. Confirm the official rules, registration status and payment arrangements with the tournament or captain.

When is my contact information shared?

Your contact information stays private while a request is pending. It is shared between the captain and golfer only after the request is accepted.

Can I withdraw a request?

Yes. You can withdraw a pending or accepted request from your dashboard. ScrambleSpot records cancellations so both sides have a clear history.

What happens when a team is full?

The opening stops accepting additional golfers. The captain then confirms the final roster, and the completed team moves to Matches.

Can a captain decline a request?

Yes. Captains choose who joins their team and provide a reason when declining. A declined golfer can continue searching for another spot.

How do search alerts work?

Run a search, select the email-alert option and save it. ScrambleSpot emails you when a newly published opening matches those dates and location settings. Alerts can be paused, edited or deleted from your dashboard.

What if my course is missing?

Use Request a Course from the posting workflow. You can still enter the course manually for that opening while the directory request is reviewed.

How do attendance reports and reviews work?

After an event, participants confirm what happened and may leave feedback. If you believe a report or review is wrong, you can dispute it from your dashboard for admin review.

Don’t see the right spot today?

Save your search and ScrambleSpot will email you when a matching opening is published.
